Burdwan University (BU) or The University of Burdwan  is a public university. The university is situated in Burdwan, West Bengal, India. The university is a  teaching cum affiliating university established on 15 June 1960. Burdwan University was established with six Graduate departments and thirty Undergraduate colleges spread over three districts that come under the jurisdiction of the university. Currently, The University imparts 30 graduate programmes of different stream. Burdwan University has its 139 affiliated colleges including degree colleges, B.Ed. colleges and private professional institutes.

The exam is conducted by the university in the month of April-May every year for its UG/PG courses. Semester exams are taken by the university in the month of April-May and Nov.- Dec., two times in a year. The Result of exam is announced after 1-2 months of exam. Hence it is expected that the Burdwan University Result for April – May  2016 exam will be announced in the month of July- August 2016. The semester exam Nov-Dec exam Result will be announced in the month of January-February 2016.
